Mind Reading for WHOOP at Dolans in Limerick
I had just finished my show at Dolans for the WHOOP staff summer barbecue and it was one of those nights where everything felt easy in the best way. The crowd were in great form from the start and because people were relaxed, curious and ready to get involved, the whole mind reading set had a lovely flow from first reveal to last reaction.
Getting Set at Dolans
A big thank you to Laura who was my WHOOP contact and organizer for the event, she made the whole process smooth and gave me every detail I needed in advance so I could arrive ready to go. At Dolans, Mary Rose looked after me brilliantly with the venue side of things and on the night I was kindly allowed to use the band PA and microphone and set up in front of the stage with all the gear in place, including a giant Animal puppet on the drum kit that looked class.
The Mind Reading Show
I ran a full mind reading show with a few of my favorite routines, including the psychic murder piece, random thought revelations and a dream date sequence that got a brilliant reaction from the room. People leaned in fast and stayed with it all the way through, which is always what you hope for when you are building a show around audience participation and strong shared moments.
There were lots of other activities happening at the same time with food service, people moving around the venue and henna tattoos happening during the event, but that actually worked really well for this kind of night. One thing I always tell event planners is that entertainment can sit inside a busy evening and still hit hard, because the people who want to watch can fully engage while everyone else keeps enjoying the wider atmosphere.
After the Show
The feedback from the WHOOP team was fantastic and people were genuinely engaged with the show from start to finish, which always means a lot to me. Mary Rose and the Dolans staff were also brilliant and gave me a green room to get ready, helped me prep the set and made the whole run feel seamless, and as I was packing up I could hear the band sounding amazing as the night rolled on.
